Writing is Hard
blink blink blink
I haven’t written in a while….IM SORRY.
The last time was on here it was warm and everything was green. Now, the world is colder, all the leaves are gone and the sun is setting at 4. It’s ruining my life. But hey….at least Christmas is near?! I’ll let myself be depressed in January.
Turns out writing is hard when you’re having fun and only want to watch Bravo after work. I think it’s important to remember that while writing can be therapeutic and magical and lifechanging it’s also just….hard.
I find myself struggling to motivate myself and even harder to find something to write about —Especially since getting personal isn’t my strong suit. A man who can’t share his feelings….how cliche.
My life also isn’t that crazy. I mostly just go to work and giggle with my friends, which is awesome, but not exactly memoir fuel.
I think that’s also why I’ve been spending a lot of my time writing on my own instead of sharing. I might be working on something but it’s far from being shared with anyone else. Regardless, I’m excited about it.
I don’t want to make promises that I can’t keep, but I am actively going to try and come on here more to brain dump or say hi or just . I’ll think of it as my place to scream into the pillow.
To switch things up, sharing some fun culture things that have been on my mind in the past few months. Hopefully I’ll be back here soon, but for now, let’s fight in comments if you disagree with any of these:
Spotify Wrapped is out and according to the algorithm, I have the music taste of of a 17 year old (their words, not mine). My top artist this year was Lorde, followed by Audrey Hobert, Gaga, Oklou and Charli XCX. My harem of alt-pop girlies. Taylor was nowhere in sight: I was marked safe from Swiftie disease this year (yes it is a disease) and I am happy about it While I don’t think I have the ULTIMATE music taste, I do genuinely think Virgin + Mayhem were the two best albums of the year, so it will be interesting to see where they net out at the Grammy’s (JUSTICE FOR LORDE).
Heated Rivalry is ruining my life. For non gays, this is the new homo-erotic HBO show that follows the love affair of two closeted rival hockey players. It’s hot and horny and all I can think about 24/7. Recommend watching it alone for obvious reasons…..To quote Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart in a case exploring the threshold for what constitutes porn, “I know it when I see it”
Cloud Dancer is the 2026 Pantone Color the Year and it’s just white. I don’t have anything else nice to say so that’s it.
Charli XCX has started releasing tracks for her ‘Wuthering Heights’ album and the music feels….transformative. It’s darker and more atmospheric than anything she’s put out before but it still somehow feels Charli. Brat’s evil older sister with heavy eye makeup. Truly excited for the movie; I think it will be a visual masterpiece with no substance but sometimes that’s all that you can ask for. Sure Emerald will make sure there’s another bath water -esque scene for the gays to fawn over and memify (me included)
TLOAS was an absolute flop and I’m losing faith in T*ylor more and more. I keep calling it her ‘low IQ album. Lately, being a swiftie is sounding more like a slur than a celebration and, for once, my friends who hate her are right. I think a long sabbatical and some self reflection would do her good. Maybe also some medication.
RHOSLC continues to prove itself as the greatest real housewives franchise of all time. This week I watched 8 middle aged women dress up in colonial garb (wigs included) and fight over who spilled tea on a Boston themed set. It keeps getting further away from reality and that’s where this show shines. If you aren’t watching it already, I don’t really wanna be associated with you. It’s that serious.
In other reality TV news I am also watching Southern Charm but it’s a lot less fun. DOWN WITH CRAIG.
In personal news….I ran the New York City Marathon this year and beat my goal, and previous PB, in 3:14 minutes! Already getting ready for two more marathons next year (Maine Coast and Philly). Hoping 2026 will be the year I go sub 3!!!! Stay tuned for more training news in the near year, but for now, I will be resting and hibernating.
